I was outside in the Garden. The Tropical World of Foliage and Green spilled out all over the place. My Fountain — The Philosopher’s Fountain — welcomed me. The Fountain was surrounded by an aesthetic balance of an outdoor Classroom cut in Stone with the Elegance of Old World Europe, and Tropical Island meets “Zen Garden.”
The sun was shining bright.
I sat down at my fountain and inhaled deeply.
I do not read American Newspapers, News, Media, or Social Media.
I read — Exclusively — The London Times, The Irish Times, Le Monde, and The Greek Reporter. There is a sense of Calm and Logical Order — not to mention Elegance and Class — that the US just… Lacks.
While the rest of the world feels like Elegant High Class dripping with Authenticity and the relishing of Mature and Beauty and Art for the celebration of Maturity, Beauty, and Art — The US feels like an undisciplined Toddler Edition of Lord of The Flies. I unsubscribed.
I had a conversation… Oh! We have to do this!
I had a conversation with a dear friend of mine yesterday — Susan — and she told me that I was not at all “American.” This was not the first time I had heard this.
My Aunt — since 1995 — told me many times that “You’re Parisian, Anna. You’re always — like Paris — are two years ahead of the US and your Style and Mindset is always aligned with Paris.”
In 1992, I had learned that I had British Humor — which is why I found America’s “taste in humor” distasteful.
I was an American with European Soul. I blamed this 100% on my Ancient Greek Education.
Now, I sat beside my Fountain and gazed at the water.
I had plans to build my Lighthouse in Manhattan.
Now, I wasn’t so sure. I immediately thought of Santorini, and returned to the Images online today, only to see the Internet flowing with news on the Earthquakes there. My heart sank.
I knew what this was. Santorini would not come back from this. Not for a long while. The Earthquakes would spread. Right to Rome.
I had been watching Santorini for a while. I wanted my University to be returned to its Origin Country. Greece, Ur, Ethiopia, and Alexandria.
I exhaled and sat back… Thinking.
